THE URGENCY OF A RENEWED MIND AND GENUINE REPENTANCE

Until the mind is renewed and refined, it continues in wicked thoughts, causing God to regret creating man.

Genesis 6:5-6 [AMP]

[5] The LORD saw that the wickedness (depravity) of man was great on the earth, and that every imagination or intent of the thoughts of his heart were only evil continually.

[6] The LORD regretted that He had made mankind on the earth, and He was [deeply] grieved in His heart.

Listen carefully: when God reaches a point of regret over any of His creatures, destruction is imminent. Look at verse 7 of Genesis 6:

Genesis 6:7 [AMP]

[7] So the LORD said, "I will destroy (annihilate) mankind whom I have created from the surface of the earth—not only man, but the animals and the crawling things and the birds of the air—because it [deeply] grieves Me [to see mankind's sin] and I regret that I have made them."

This scripture reveals God's deep anger over wickedness. And as such, destruction followed. Every unrefined mind is prone to wickedness because that is where Satan’s suggestions cluster. God cannot spare such a mind unless there is genuine repentance. Wickedness angers God every day.

Psalm 7:11-12 [NLT]

[11] God is an honest judge. He is angry with the wicked every day.

[12] If a person does not repent, God will sharpen his sword; he will bend and string his bow.

Can you see that? God is angry with the wicked every day, and if they do not repent, destruction is certain. Every unrepentant wicked soul will face judgment some day.. God is merciful, yes, but mercy does not replace the damnation of the wicked. No wicked soul escapes damnation except there is a genuine repentance in Christ Jesus.

Ezekiel 18:4 [AMP]

[4] Behold (pay close attention), all souls are Mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is Mine. The soul who sins will die.

“Die” here means destruction. God owns every soul and has the power to destroy it. Satan has no claim over souls because he did not create anything. His only access to man is through the doors of the ears man opens to listen to his evil suggestions. But God the supreme is with the power to create and destroy.

Matthew 10:28 [AMP]

[28] Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; but rather be afraid of Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

God’s threat of soul destruction should at least instill fear in man because He does not take His words lightly. God means what He says, and says what He means. If sinners would reject Satan’s influence and respond to God’s warning by finding Jesus for the salvation of their souls and renewal, God’s anger would be abated and turned away. For any mind that is renewed in Jesus removes Satan’s influence and restores God’s very best.

Isaiah 55:7 [AMP]

[7] Let the wicked leave (behind) his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to the LORD, and He will have compassion (mercy) on him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.

This is the conclusion and my admonishment for you that is still in sin and hearing this message right now. Leave your wicked ways behind and turn to God for you to find His mercy and abundant forgiveness. I assure you that this will mark the beginning of a new journey where God’s Spirit renews your mind in Christ, guarding it against further evil infiltrations.

And I know you will not turn down this life-changing opportunity to make the life God has given to you glorious and enviable.
I know you will begin to listen to Jesus and reject Satan’s lies.
I know you are ready to forsake wickedness and follow God’s righteousness.
I know you are ready to say “YES” to Jesus and embrace a righteous life.
